Leaving the hotel early in the morning for Open Air Museum of Ethnography. Museum occupies 52 hectares of land and 70 houses with more than eight thousand artifacts brought from all over Georgia. Together with architectural monuments, the museum presents ethnographic materials – different kinds of tools, textiles, and ceramics. The museum also includes the V-VI century basilica of Sioni, as well as a rich collection of grave stones in relief. Following the Museum of Ethnography we will visit one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. The history of the garden started in 1636, when the Royal Gardens were cultivated for the decorative and pharmaceutical purposes in the south of Sololaki mountain range in the river Tsavkistskali gorge. There are several bridges on the river. The most remarkable among them is an arched bridge built in 1914 on the 22 m. high waterfall. The diversity of its flora is determined by the relief and microclimate conditions of the garden. There are 3500 species of flora in the garden We will also visit the fortress Narikala built in IV century from where you can see fascinating views on Tbilisi and river Kura. Upon group decision, we may visit the Museum of Soviet Occupation and Georgian History Museum. We will also visit flea market place on “Dry Bridge” and Sameba Cathedral, that is the main Christian orthodox church in Georgia. Sameba was built in 1995-2004 and it is the third- tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in the world The tour ends with dinner in the evening on Tbilisi Funicular where you can experience beautiful views on the whole capital city Tbilisi.
