Day 1
Airport transfer to Tbilisi Hotel.
Day 2:
Leaving Hotel for Signagi, walking through the city of love and delicious lunch on balcony with amazing views on Alazani field. Then we will visit Bodbe monastery and Gurjaani Khvelatsminda (All Saints) monastery, that is unique with its outstanding architecture. Leaving Gurjaani, we will visit winery Khareba, where we can taste different wines. We will also visit unique by its location monastery complex – Nekresi and then in the evening we will have free time on “Ilia” lake. Overnight in Kvareli in a hotel.
Day 3
Leaving Kvareli for historical capital city of Kakheti – Gremi and then visiting the current capital city of Kakheti – Telavi (including the Alaverdi monastery near Telavi). Overnight in Telavi in a hotel.
Day 4
Leaving Telavi for Tbilisi, on the way to Tbilisi we will visit old and new Shuamta monasteries.
Free time in the evening in Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi in a hotel.
Day 5
Leaving Tbilisi for historical capital city of Georgia – Mtskheta. We will visit XI century cathedral “Svetitskhoveli and VI century monument – Jvari Monastery. After we will leave Mtskheta for Kazbegi. On the way to Kazbegi we will visit Ananuri fortress – one of the most interesting piece of Georgian architecture. Ananuri complex unites monuments related with religion, military and civil issues, that makes the complex very important and interesting historical monument in Georgia. Ananuri fortress is bordered from one side by Zhinvali reservoir with its fascinating views.In Kazbegi you will visit Gergeti holy trinity church, from where you can experience amazing views of glacier “Mkinvartsveri”. Overnight in Kazbegi in a guest house.
Day 6
Leaving Kazbegi for Gori, where we will visit Stalin Museum and other sightseeing places of the city. Also, we will visit rock-hewn ancient city “Uplistsikhe” located in the surroundings of the city Gori. After we will leave for southern part of Georgia and overnight in Borjomi in a hotel.
Day 7
Walking in Borjomi park and tasting Borjomi mineral water that have very special healing effects. We will also visit Georgian orthodox church in the village Timotesubani and Mtsvane (Green) Monastery in the surrounding area of Borjomi. Overnight in Borjomi in a hotel.
Day 8
Leaving Borjomi for Akhaltsikhe, where we will visit fortress complex Rabat. In the historical part of the complex, there are fortress with its citadel, baths, museums and noblemen palace built in different centuries starting from 9th century. In the complex there is also a jail where people where imprisoned for some period before they were sent to Ottoman empire for selling as slaves. Then we will visit the 10th century monastery complex “Sapara”. The name of the place derives from Georgian word “Epareba” (in English means – Hides), as even though the monastery is built on the top of the mountain it is impossible to see it from any point until you walk to the gate of the monastery. Leaving Sapara for Zarzma monastery and after that at night we will visit Abastumani astrophysical observatory (once the biggest observatory throughout the Soviet Union). Overnight in Akhaltsikhe in a hotel.
Day 9
Leaving Akhaltsikhe for Tbilisi. On the way to Tbilisi we will visit fortress Khertvisi and rock- hewn town Vardzia and also the biggest lake in Georgia – Paravani.
Day 10
Depending on the departure schedule, Tbilisi tour can be planned, that includes visiting fascinating sightseeing places of the old Tbilisi, various museums, the biggest cathedral of Georgia – Sameba and also going up on mountain Mtatsminda by funicular, from where you can see amazing views of Tbilisi.
