Day 2:
Leaving Hotel for historical capital city of Georgia – Mtskheta. We will visit XI century cathedral “Svetitskhoveli and VI century monument – Jvari Monastery. Walking within the historic part of Mtskheta. After Mtskheta, leaving for Tbilisi where we will visit the fortress Narikala built in IV century from where you can see fascinating views on Tbilisi and river Kura. Walking within the old Tbilisi territory and after visiting the Sameba Cathedral, that is the main Christian orthodox church in Georgia. Sameba was built in 1995-2004 and it is the third-tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in the world. Overnight In Tbilisi in the hotel.
Day 3
Leaving Hotel to see the Sataplia natural reserve that is famous with reserves footprints of dinosaurs. We will also visit Gelati and Mostameta monastery complex and Bagrati Cathedral. In the evening walking within the historical part of Kutaisi and have dinner in local restaurant and have master class with making Georgian traditional dishes. Overnight in Kutaisi.
Day 4
Leaving hotel for Okatse canyon. The artificial path is made on the rocky canyon at the height of 100 m. While walking the path you see the amazing views down the valley of the river Okatse. Upon the group’s decision, you can visit fascinating waterfall Gordi that is in a 5 km walk from the Okatse Canyon. We will also visit a fascinating place – Prometheus cave and after that the beautiful canyon located in the Martvili region. Dinner we will have in a local restaurant with Georgian traditional dishes and Georgian wine. Back to Kutaisi.
Day 5
Leaving Hotl for Nokalakevi. According to scientists’ assumption it is the place where mythological city of AIA was located. AIA was the outstanding city by its development and wealth, it is the place where Argonauts stole Golden Fleece. Roman and Byzantine historians called the city AIA as Archeopolis. Nowadays here you can see remains of fortress built in III century B.C. After we will visit palace of Georgian Noblemen – Dadiani and leave for one of the most beautiful regions of Georgia – Svaneti. Overnight in Mestia in a guest house.
Day 6
Leaving Mestia for Ushguli – the highest inhabited place in Europe that is located on the 2200 meters above the sea level. Etymology of the name “Ushguli” is connected with “Brave Heart”, in Georgian “Ushishari Guli”. The village is listed in the UNESCO world heritage site list, as there are a lot of ancient Towers, “Svanetian” living houses (Machubi) and ancient shrines. You can also visit summer residence of Georgian legendary King Tamar called “Tamari Tower”. In cloudless weather, from Ushguli it can be seen Europe’s second highest peak – “Shkhara”. Overnight in Mestia in a guest house.
Day 7
We will visit Mestia museum. For hiking enthusiasts there is an interesting path from Mestia to Chalaadi glacier, that leads us to the source of the river Mestiachala. The path is quite simple and very interesting for tourists, that is why it is very popular among travelers of any age. The glacier is covered with constant ice layer even in the hottest days of summer.
From Mestia and its surroundings you can experience fascinating views of peaks – Ushba and Tetnuldi. Two headed peak of Ushba attracts many tourists and alpinists with its inimitable beauty and inaccessible location. Tetnuldi is outstandingly beautiful at sunset when rays of the setting sun covers it with purple mantle robe. Svanetian people have very interesting legend about Ushba and Tetnuldi, according to which Ushba and Tetnuldi are sweethearts and that is why they constantly peer each other. Traveling from Mestia back to Tbilisi. Transfer to airport
